breaking up is hard to do

breaking up is hard to do

Dear piercings,
I miss you. Spiral, well it was good while you lasted. We really tried this time and I thought I had saved you. You seemed to be responding well and then well you had to go and get all crazy on me and cause me a big fucking dutch nightmare.

Ribs, set one. I miss you as well. Hopefully the second set is saved. The antibiotics seem to be working on them, so we shall see.

right dermal anchor. damn, that was a painful breakup. that hurt more than us getting together. I'll still keep you in my drawer so one day we may be reunited as that won't happen here with Torkel who thinks of using a scapel for anchors. Not happening.

Dear rest of friends,
sorry I was gone and out of touch. I had to go completely AWOL for a bit to focus on some research, move ( by bike I might add), and but 95% to figure out some stuff I have long avoided thinking about but have now answered. So I return to you. In my new house-which is a very happy space, clean, mice-free, homey, sit-down dinners, proofreading partnership, i'd actually want people to visit me here happening kind of place.

Back like acid washed jeans,

a very preservative-free fridge. I go shopping every Saturday to Lomark (the Turkish-Morrocan Neighborhood). I buy tons of veggie and fruit for much cheaper than the U.S. First time for everything in the NL!. Then I visit the lovely biologial shop, the italian shop, the olive oil shop, and I pretend I live in Paris. Or at least in posh part of Utrecht where said shops are...

Here's my new bedroom. I have an air matress, which takes up half the floor. I got it very cheaply and I don't feel like paying for a twin matress to have more space. Plus, how will i accomodate my guests for sleep-overs? :) You can't see the heater but it's right my bed and I snuggle up to it to keep warm as the window has no seal. It's totally like sleeping next to someone!

The part of my room not taken up by my bed. Look closely and you'll see that I alphabetize my books...and seperate my clothes by style and color. Yes, I am a freak.

I love my new bathroom. Sadly this picture does not capture the neon brightness of my towels. The shower is awesome. I like to pretend it's a bathroom in some rich smancy hotel. I'm not afraid of being barefoot in my shower anymore...unlike the last two places. Plus there is a seperate W.C., so hurray for not waiting and fearing my bladder will explode.

A kitchen with counters I am not afraid to cut my food on. Space to cook! A fridge and a freezer! A roomate with high standards! We wash our cookware right after using it and dishes right after eating. I've even learned to hang my coat up and put away my shoes..vs throw everything on the floor. We have sit down dinners every night.

the lovely flowers that I want to buy every week. they smell like lilacs. my fav.

maybe 2 inches of snow. the dutch seriously freak out when there is snow. like snowgasm freak out. i on other hand don't care that much. also their idea of cold...yeah does not compare to the freeze your labes/freeze your balls of goditsmotherfuckingcoldwhydoistillhereandwhyhaveinotmovedtohawaii minnesota cold. I like when I just go out in jeans and a shirt...then everyone else has a jacket and mittens. Or how I wear sandals (no socks) and all my friends ask aren't you freezing while i hadnt noticed it was that cold yet.

the snow lasted a few hours. trains stopped. it's a week or so later since that snow storm (to which I told my sister about and she said fuck you and your snow storm) and now its in the 50s and I dont have to wear a jacket. hurray.
